A new Google update rolled out June 2nd named June 2021 Core update, with another update to roll out July 2021.
The last update was six months ago, the December 2020 Core update.
Why two Google core updates?
Not all the updates are ready for the June update. However, Google is moving forward with the updates that are currently ready, with the remaining updates coming in the July 2021 Core update.
“Of course, any core update can produce drops or gains for some content. Because of the two-part nature of this release, it’s possible a very small slice of content might see changes in June that reverse in July,” Google said.
What should we expect from this update?
Like previous Google updates, your rankings may shift up and down or remain stable. However, since the next update is coming in July, you may experience a total reversal of impact on your rankings, or in the future, the July update may cause a ranking crash. As we advance further into the summer months, business owners will likely see a lot of volatility in their rankings in the next couple of months.
What to do if the two incoming Google updates hit your site?
Google hasn’t listed any specific actions on how to remedy a negative rankings impact on your site. However, they did say you may see a bit of recovery between core updates.
Why should you care about the latest Google update?
Quite frankly, it means your rankings could move up or down, impacting your revenue. But the other hand, this gives SEOs a way to understand what is happening to your website and look for changes in the analytics and rankings.
